I am using ACT! 2008 version 10.0 and it has been working well. However, the subject Microsoft update failed to install and afterwards ACT! could not find any databases. I resorted to a system restore in order to get ACT! working again. Does anyone have any ideas what is happening or what needs to be done so that the update can be installed and still use ACT! 2008 version 10.0?

Act 2009 has the same problem. The SQL Server 2005 Service pack 3 update fails and renders Act useless until the computer is rebooted. Windows Update then runs the update every night rendering ACT useless again.
I have turned off Auto Updates until someone has a fix?!

The issue is in the Microsoft Patch. Even without ACT people cannot get it to install.
