Has anyone run across this error yet? Anyone have a CLUE?

[ Edited ]

Hey all,

I have exported a bunch of ACT 10 data from one machine, moved the database files (I think...which ones do I need to move?) across the network to another machine and attempted to import the data into a new database.

This is the error I receive during the import...and it couldn't possibly be more vague:

Anyone have any ideas?

did you try to open the database after moving it across the network

( move the adf, alf, database files folder )

open the database using adf file, that will attach the database to local machine

once the database is opened , try to import

How to Import Contact Data From an Existing ACT! Database into Another ACT! Database

make a backup of the exiting database in this machine before import

So I need to move the ALF file?  I'm a complete newbie to ACT...

I've got a PAD file, an ALF file, and a folder full of "database folders".

Are those all I need to move?

Thanks!

Re: Has anyone run across this error yet? Anyone have a CLUE?

these are the files you have to move

1) <database name>.adf

2) <database name>.alf

3) <database name> - database files folder

move all these files to same location

goto file | open database | files of type | select act database.adf | goto the location where your database is| open the adf file
