We use ACT for our Neighborhood Association.
With over 1800 members it's difficult to remember each of their homes.
When I look at a contact record is there a way that a link will appear to a google street photo of that home?

I just did a quick test with the street view URL, and what happened was I got the street view, but not looking at the house, just up and/or down the street. The satellite view seemed to work a bit better, but that's probably not what you want.
However, looking through Google's demos @ http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/demogallery.html, I found a few examples that would do what you want. Look at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/examples/streetview-click.html
Of course, your neighborhood will need be have been street-view mapped...

After you google street map each contact address, you can add that web link to your contact record URL/Website field for future needs.
But that prob wont show you the street view of the property.

I guess there's no way to display a photo as part of the contact record? Such that a photo of the street view appears every time I pull up a contact record...?

Yes you can.
Just do a Print Screen capture of your google mapped image and save the image as a jpeg or whatever.
Then you can add several Picture fields to your Layout, you may even want to create a new Tab called Photos or something.
I usually do a priint screen and paste it into Paint.. Outlook 2007 also has a picture editor.
We use Contact Picture image fields in our product seen at http://fillstaff.com/preview.aspx
You can do same with your Contacts Property images.
Let me know if you need any help getting started.

No. In the first place from your posting it sounds like you think that Google street view takes a separate picture of each house of building. They do not. I believe what they do is drive through neighborhoods (not every street yet) using a rotating panoramic camera to get a series of general photos. If you spent some time with the Google street view you will find that you can see to either side of something but not an intermediate view.
What I suggested was that YOU take a digital camera and take photos of each house, create a photo field in the ACT! database and upload the photos into the photo field. Then you can display them on the layout.

Assuming Google has "street view" mapped you area, you can virtually drive around the neighborhood and see the front and back of a home or business.
Not in real time. If that is the case, you can use your pc Print Screen to capture that image. Save the image into a picure folder, or in your ACT1 Documents folder. You can use those images then as I mentioned eariler in your picture fields on your layout.
I will send you a message on this forum, check your messages - Cheers - FSB
