Getting back to ACt! PRO2013

My Computer crashed, but was able to get info off the hard drive.  I have the installation disc for Pro 2011, but the upgrade to Pro 2013 was downloaded.

How do I get the upgrade and install on new computer?  Thanks.

This is the link, when you install it... activates with the serial number you received when you bought the Upgrade.

Remember to back up your database daily  ( In addition to USB memory or External Disk )  and safekeeping administrator password.

You'll need to have the serial number that matches the file you download.  If you don't have a Pro 2013 license number you'll need to install 2011, or purchase v18.  Here's the link for the 2011 download:  http://www.act.com/download/download-sage-act!-pro-2011

Re: Getting back to ACt! PRO2013

Thanks!  I was able to get 2013 Pro loaded again and viewed my files that were on a backup, but now have a couple more questions that maybe you can help me with or someone else can.

  1. When I went opened it up this morning, the data was not there.  I really did not have time to mess with it, but brought the external HD with me to play with it.  How do I save that information so that it stays on my laptop?
  2. Also, now it is asking me for my Username and Password, which I did not need last night, why is that?
  3. I don't know if I know where the Username and Password info is, is there a way to retrieve it?

Hi Sully,

  1. Once you have the database open, you can go to File > Move Database and select a move on this computer, then select a location on your laptop to move the database to.
  2. After a reinstall or restore from a backup, Act will always ask for the database username and password.
  3. The username is usually your contact records name in Act. The password can be blank. If you cannot remember this info, you can request a password reset though our support team.
