Is there a way to generate some kind of report of the new contacts added within a specified time frame, say the last 30 days? With that being said, I was also hoping there would be a way to break it down into groups as well.
Example: If I were asked to generate a report of all the contacts added in the group 'Investors' during the month of May, would that be possible?

Bear with me for a minute here this isn't a perfect answer but might be what you are looking for. You could:
1. Create a new custom activity type that pertains to "Contact added to group"
2. When a contact or contacts are added to a group use that custom activity/history type to record a group history entry
using the newly created custom activity type "Contact added to group". Make sure you click the record history icon
in the group view not the contact detail view then specify the contact(s) involved.
3. Then when you want to find the contacts added to that group for a given date range, use the group filters.
Filter by type = history only, group histories only (not group and contact history), then custom date range that you want.
Yes this will grab all group histories for a given custom date range not just contact add records. Group-only histories
however should be in much smaller quantities than those tied to contacts.
