Frustrating Boot-Up Glitch/Problem

I'm new to the community--first time user..

 

And, just wanting suggestions as to how to deal with a frustrating, time-consuming problem associated with ACT! Whenever activating the periodic reminder

for Windows "Upgrades"--and, the follow-up request to re-boot my computer for them to take effect, ACT!'s Read Me notes & the entire 352 page User's

Manual loads as part of the reboot process. Why is this? What can I do to eliminate this hassle?

That is unusual. Right click on your start menu, choose Exlore, then double click on programs and double click on start up.  Is there anything there that looks like manuals or read me?
