Fields not showing in templates

Certain fields from my database don't show up in templates.

They just get ignored altogether no matter what I do.

Even rebuilt the templates, but no luck.

The fields have an odd format when I "Toggle Field Codes" like this:

 {DOCVARIABLE[ACTFIELD]TBL_CONTACT.CUST_POLICYEXPIRATIONDATE_032257149 \*MERGEFORMAT}

Any field that has this different looking code doesn't work.

Fields that look like this do:

{DOCVARIABLE[ACTFIELD]TBL_CONTACT.FULLNAME\*MERGEFORMAT}

Re: Fields not showing in templates

So I believe those "different" looking fields are User Defined Fields.  Did something happen to those in the database?

Re: Fields not showing in templates

They probably were / are user defined fields.

Like many of us, this database archtecture comes from a long time ago, and now I am on ACT 2011-HF5.

I have created many custom fields over the years.  Did I max out the native fields and now these User Fields won't work right?

There are a handful of fields with this arrangement.

Funny,  the field shows up in a REPORT.

The field shows up in SOME of the mail merge word docs, but not others.

Specifically doesn't seem to like forms with tables in them, but need to experiement.  Maybe it is the field length? / Size?
