Field change not being accepted, but shown in history as happening

Hi,

We use ACT to track software sales.  When a school purchases software or renew their licenes, we keep track of that in a field. I have gone in to change the renewal date. It will show changed on my screen and a note will be logged in the history. When I go back, or someone else looks up that school, the change is not done, but you can see in the note that I did it. It's not all the records that it happens to, and it's not consistent with certain dates or schools.

Any advice would be appreciated.

What version of ACT! are you using? Is the issue only happening on the date field?  Do you have a lot of custom fields?  Try running Check and Repair from Tools -> Database Maintenance.  This isn't going to bring back the data, but it could prevent it from happening in the future.  I would also advise creating regular backups of your database.

Question, are you synchronizing databases and are you using automatic rollover activities?

we only use 1 database.

We don't use the activites that often, right now there is only 1 salesperson that uses them

We have 10.0, yes only in the date field.

We have a Lot of custom fields....

We have the scheduler do backups each night.

I will try the repair tonight.
