Fax Software with ACT! Pro

I just purchased ACT! Pro 16 and need a fax program to work with it. A thousand years ago, ACT! 6 worked with WinFax and used for limited broadcast faxing.

What is your fax? Is it a phone line plugged into your computer? ACT will work with Windows 7, 8 and 10 Fax software that comes with the OS.  It requires a phone line plugged into eiher an internal modem on the laptop or a Fax modem you attach to the computer.  It will also work with any fax that can be accessed over the network, but again, a server fax known to Windows and you print to it.

The computer does not have a modem, so the software would have to use a non-hard wired fax software ( I am guessing.) I do have, at this point,

a dedicated fax line in my office.

I can buy an external modem?

Yes you can buy faxes that can connect to the laptop. Just recently I learned about Faxtalk which is a replacement for Winfax. FaxAdmin from ASDS Software works with it.

Yes, that will implode your efforts not having a real phone line.  However, you can try signing up for one of the internet fax services. Most of them have you send the fax out using an email - formatted with faxnumber@someinternetservice.com.  You could update the Fax Template in ACT to add in the "@sksksksksks.com" address to the end of the fax number.  Then simply do an email to the fax template.  The services tend to be pretty cheap. efax.com is one that come to mind.
