The last two years I have had sales responsibilities for U.S. and Canada. Starting in 2018 it will be just U.S.; a new rep takes over Canada.
I'd like to transfer my Canadian contacts in Act to another Act database on the same computer on the off chance I'll need it again in the future..
I'd also like the opportunities each of those contacts is associated with to also be transferred.
The overall objective is to get anything related to a Canadian contacts out of my primary day-to-day Act database, and instead store all that data in another Act database on my PC.
When I go to the Export tool though I can transfer Contacts fine, but for Opportunities it seems I have to transfer all of them, both U.S. and Canadian opportunities.
Is there a way to transfer specific Contacts and their specific opportunities?
Hope this makes sense and you can help.
Act Pro version 188.8.131.52, btw.

This option might be easier?
Take a backup of your existing database
Then perform a DB Restore as
Restore your db as another name( using that fresh db backup)
Then delete the NON-Canadian contacts/companies/opportunities from it.
? yes? no? maybe?
Then in your other db, you can delete the Canadian stuff?

Thanks. That might work.
I suppose I would have to delete opportunities via company name, though. None are tagged by Country, just contacts.
Or is there a way to look up all opportunities associated with people in Canada? The Canadian contacts all have Canada in the Country field on their profile.

You should be able to identify your opportunities from your Contacts or Company records depending on which record you created your opps from?
I have customized my opportunity layouts to easily do dat..
Let me know if you would like me to email you a Confidential Image screenshot copy of my modified opportunity layout.
