I don't see an easy way to do this for 2 reasons
a) There is a limit in the length of text in an excel field as it woudl cut off beyond the limit
b) The one way might be to print the notes report to .rtf and then open this in Word would be one simple answer

As Paul said, Excel doesn't have the ability to store the amount of information that can be stored in ACT!'s Notes... so it might be Microsoft you want to chase with that lawsuit.
Of course, ACT! provides many methods for people to get access to the data externally:
Unless you work for free, you'll usually find it's better value to get the addon to do the export properly.

Thanks for the information. I have been able to get my notes and history out...
But, there doesn't seem to be any field in Notes or History databases that ties in those entries to the contacts in the contact database.
How can I do this?
