Excel OLE DB query

Hello,

I have a report built in Excel 2013 using an OLE DB query to pull activity details from Act! (Sage ACT! Pro 2013 Version 15.1.108.0) into a table.  I'm using Windows 7 on my computer.

I want to only pull data from Act after a certain date (01/01/2015).  Is this possible?  As it is it's pulling all the activity history, making it take too long to run.

Thanks,

Jake

Re: Excel OLE DB query

here is an example of an SLQ query that uses the create date.  Consider a similar query

SELECT dbo_TBL_CONTACT.FULLNAME, dbo_TBL_CONTACT.CREATEDATE
FROM dbo_TBL_CONTACT
WHERE (((dbo_TBL_CONTACT.CREATEDATE)>#1/1/2013#));

Re: Excel OLE DB query

Thanks Jon, but when I pasted that into my query it said 'initialization of the data source failed', although it was able to refresh without that code.  The current code I'm using is;

Connection:

Provider=ACTOLEDB2.1;Data Source=<location>;User ID=<username>;Password=<password>;Persist Security Info=True;Initial Catalog=(Default);Extended Properties="";Location="";Mode=ReadWrite

Command Type:

Table

Command Text:

"dbo","HISTORY"

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Jake

Re: Excel OLE DB query

i'd have to defer to a sql guy.  It's tough for me to do an autopsy without seeing it.

I use both Crystal Reports and sometimes ACCEss to create reports
