Error: "template does not use a valid format..."

When attempting to use a template file on a 2nd computer on the network,  we get an error that says "The selected template does not use a valid format.  If the template was created in a prior version of Act! it must be converted".  The file was already converted from vers 6.0 ,  and supposedly successfully.

However that same template file works fine if you use the main computer (that has the database and also the templates).

Both computers have same updated version (2009  11.1.x).  The template file is "shared" in Windoze Vista on the main computer  (Computer A).  Also permissions are set to allow it to be used.  The computer that has trouble is Computer B,  which has Windoze XP.

Another pecularity is that on Computer B,  when selecting "WRITE  ==>  OTHER DOCUMENT ==> "  only files with "tpl" will show in the browse window.   We then have to put in "*.*" to find the files with "adt" extension.  On Computer A we initialy see all files.

We have tried loggong off from Act on the main computer.

Any ideas?

You don't have Word selected as the word processor on that system.

How do I specify that Word is the selected word processor?

Thanks for the reply.

You can change your word process in the preferences.

Tools > Preferences > Communication
