this is the error message I received:

So, it's not on the software install, but the restore of the backup?
Are you doing a Restore_As?
How big is the backup zip file?
What version of ACT! (the full build from Help | About)?

I noticed you marked a post as a solution to your question. That post doesn't appear to solve the problem. To change the marked solution, you can go to Options on the upper right of the post you marked as a solution. Then, under Options, choose Unmark as Accepted Solution.
