Dear Act Community, I read the earlier postings dealing with the error message I received when I tried to type a contact into a database. I am a new user of ACT PRo 2013 although I used ACT 6.0 in the past. Anyway, I would get the error message:
Value cannot be null Parameter name: Criteria. Members of the community posted that this could be fixed by going to tools, preferences, and then admin and disabling the field for Duplicate Checking. Unfortunately, when I click on this field I get another
error message that says: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Now I'm stuck. Please help.

Try closing ACT! and then opening it up again to see if that works, if not try and change the duplicate criteria to something else, also make sure that at least the first drop down has somthing in for contacts, companies and groups click OK and then go back in to disable it.
