Error Message

I am a new small Bs ACT!10.00 (standard) user & recently downloaded 10.02. Don't know if problem related to update, but now, when adding contact 'notes' (whether editing existing or adding new contact) & hit OK-an error window appears w/'gong' sound.  (If adding a contact without notes, no 'error').  Error window titled 'Act by Sage' reads: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object", contains big red circled "X" and  'OK' button; the only option.

All info is retained-even 'notes'. I have exited ACT and done full PC shutdown-all info remains OK. Before 10.02 download-no error window, but I don't know if my recent group/contact restructuring work caused glitch. I did not attempt any 'custom' changes as I added and deleted groups and contacts.

NOT tech savy, but know this is not good. Will this damage ACT database, eventually cause crash, thereby losing some or all contact info on various groups? Corrupt ACT! some other way? What did I do? How can I fix?  Thanks in advance!  redinwa

Re: Error Message

Thank you! This worked and problem seems resolved.  I backed up per instructions, but didn't lose anything. After 'restart' however, none of the interim screens came up as the instructions said they would- ACT! just launched straight into one of my databases.  FYI
