Error Message when "Scanning for Duplicates"

Error Message when "Scanning for Duplicates"

When I try to scan for duplicates, I receive a pop up box with the following message:
 
"Value cannot be null. Parameter name: Sort Criteria"
 
I've tried different options for the various fields (Match On / Then on / Then on) and still seem to get this message.
 
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix?
 
Note: I'm the only user of the database.
 
I appreciate any insights.

Also - do you get the error doing the Scan for Dupes in the demo database? This will show if it is database specific.
 
If the repair didn't help, what exact version of ACT! (full build from Help | about)?
