Ugraded from ACT 2000 to 2008. Deleted Act 2000 from system using control panel.
Loaded new contact into ACT2008 system wont allow me to
Add Contact To Groups - midlde tool bar Group/Companies Tab
Wont allow me to search for contacts using the top tool bar arrows, when I click on the go forward arrow it gives the above message.
Lookup search does not respond
What do I nee to do or do I need to reload ACT 2000??

No, you will not need to reinstall ACT! 2000.
Which version build of ACT! 2008 are you using (Help | About ACT!)? Try applying the 10.0.2 update if you're on a lower build.
You can get around this issue by disabling duplicate checking (Tools | Preferences | General Tab | Duplicate Checking).
