Hello Paul,
So the Community can better assist you, please provide some additional information regarding this issue:
- What version of ACT! are you using (from Help > About ACT!)?
- What operating system do you have ACT! installed on?
- When you say you initiate an email from Opportunities, are you clicking an email address in a field, or the Email button on the top menu?
- Do you have Outlook as your email client? If so, what version?
- Does this only happen in the Opportunities view, or in any other view?
- If you open your local copy of the demo database (ACT[version#]Demo) and initiate an email from Opportuities, does the same thing happen?
- Did this work before, as you have always had this error?
Thank you,
Greig Hollister
Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

Hello Greg:
Okay a couple of new developments. I did a complete reinstall again of ACT 2013. Also did the update provided from the website. Performed all the tasks you mentioned previously. I recently encountered a new error that only pops up every once in a while.
What is interesting is if I DO NOT have Outlook 2010 loaded, Act will open the new email interface but the addressee is missing from the To: area. Cursor is there but no address. If I have Outlook loaded I immediately receive the No reference to an object error message. This happens with the Demo Version 2013 and my database.

Greig:
Haven't heard back with any recommendations. Do you need more info?

Here is an article addressing the RPC Server error: KB Article 19051
If you are creating an email from your 'My Record', it will not populate the 'To' field in the email. Be sure you are not on your record when clicking the email address.

Thanks for the update, but I still have the same problem. Again, if Outlook is closed then ACT will open a new email. If Outlook is open then I get the missing object error.
