Hi you guys (and ladies)!
I am running Act! Pro Version 22.214.171.124, Hot Fix 4 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with Bitdefender Total Security 2017.
The database in on my hard drive and not on a server.
Every morning, I need to boot and reboot and re-reboot to eventually access my database.
The more reboots, the more paranoia coffee and suspense!
And when it opens, it goes to the Welcome page even though the preferences are set for Contacts to come up.
When I click on the Database, there is no Share-UnShare appearing as would be normal.
And then the message ...
Disabling the Bitdefender firewall and rebooting the computer did not help.
Please let me know if you have a solution.

Hi again Alan.
This error could be one of multiple things so please go through the following article and follow the steps outlined.
It will more thank likely be one of these.

Well, now it is intermittent at best.
Opening my Act database now means restarting the SQL (Act7) each reboot of the computer.
I wonder if there is a way to fix or replace it without reinstalling Act and risking other drama.
When I recently did a reinstall, I got all kinds of pain that the install had with SQL.

There is a way to get round this so the SQL (Act7) force starts every time.
You possibly have another program that auto loads and is conflicting with this.

I do know of a work around to this issue is having a Batch file that will run in your windows start folders.
I have included the file below as well as instructions
Download the StartSQL.bat
Ensure to save the file in a location that you are happy to keep it in and where it will not be deleted.
Right click on the .Bat file and create 2 shortcuts.
On Each shortcut Right click and go to properties
Under the Shortcut Tab - Advanced - Tick Run as administrator
Move a Shortcut to each of the locations below:
Present Logged-on user:
Startup folder for all users:
Restart your PC and Test.
