Email template: Can it have a "Subject" included?

Greetings,

Is it possible to include a Subject in an email template, so that I don't have to type it into the Subject line manually when I use Outlook?

Thanks!

No, this is not an option in ACT!

I think there is an add-on that does this using profiles - MergeMaster!

Another built-in flaw (obviously missing necessity) ACT! maintains to push customers to using their e-marketing service. What a shame.

I believe it is possible.  Try this:

[>SUBJECT>]…… [<SUBJECT<]Start text here if you want it on the first line.

Add these Tags in your template, and between the tags enter your subject which can include dynamic ACT fields. After the template wil be rendered and personalized the text between this tags will be taken as regarding or the subject.

Let me know if it worked for you.

Neat.

But I can't get it to work for me yet...

I've tried the following combox as the first line of the ACT! (MS WORD) Template "Email Test.adt"

[>SUBJECT>]Test Subject[<SUBJECT<]

[<SUBJECT>]Test Subject[<SUBJECT>]

<SUBJECT>Test Subject<SUBJECT>

but if this could work it would be very sweet.

I tried this too with different combinations but could not get it to work. This should be something that ACT can handle.

You can use the mail merge function instead and put in the subject and add attachments also. Here's a helpful hint:

Glad I found it - saved me a lot of aggravation. Why the heck this same functionality isn't in "from a template" is beyond me. I guess they think it's only for one/offs.

Hi jnpurdy,

Nice tip. It works!

It is necessary (advisable) to format "subject" / "subject" as hidden text (Word option).

It has added an ACT! field in my e-mail template... but in e-mail body, not in header...
