ERROR WHILE INSTALLING ACT2010

Yesterday installed a new copy of ACT 2010 over Act 6.0.  During the file conversion the process stopped and I got an error message (non specific) and when I clicked the detail box, nothing appeared.  Now Act 6 is disabled and I am unable to repeat the installation process.  Please advise.

Re: ERROR WHILE INSTALLING ACT2010

ACT! 2010 doesn't install "over the top" of ACT! 6.0 ... they are very different apps and shouldn't interfere with each other at all.

What was the error?
At what point did it appear?
Have you tried the update again?
How is ACT! 6.0 "disabled"?

This might help:

Re: ERROR WHILE INSTALLING ACT2010

During the conversion of the 6.0 database the message "an error has occurred" and the conversion has been stopped appeared.  A 'details' box revealed nothing.  Running setup again it asks if I want to uninstall the program.

Re: ERROR WHILE INSTALLING ACT2010

Why would you run setup again?

It sounds like you have some corruption in the ACT! 6.0 data that needs to be cleaned.
