I have never been able to e mail from Act after going through all the Help instructions. As always it most likely a simple solution but I could sure use the answer if some one could help?

Sorry for the incomplete message.
My Sage Act system is Sage Act Pro 2011
My operating system id Windows Vista
I use the internet Gmail account.
the error message is could not connect server to gmail.com

If you are using the internet mail option in ACT 2011 please take a look at this KB Article which explains how to setup internet email. Please see the Note at the beginning of the article which mentions the incoming and outgoing ports available for setup. I believe gmail uses different ports to the ones specified, so its probably why you have never been able to get it working.
If you have Outlook, or outlook express you could look at setting up your pop3 gmail account through one of those programs and then link your act email preference to that program.
