E-mail template - ActiveX error

Hi all

New to the board but a long time Act user

I've just "upgraded" to ACT! 2008 10.0.3.182, Hotfix 1 and also running Office 2003 on Win XP Professional

I've created some e-mail merge templates in Word but when I go to use them I get an error advising that:

"one or more Active X controls can't be displayed....."

I have gone through the knowledge base and changed the ActiveX settings and disabled Smart Tags as explained with no joy.

The software was installed by a Act! consultant but they don't seem to want to know.

Any ideas or alturnatively can anyone recommend a consultant here in New Zealand?

Appreciate any help...

Re: E-mail template - ActiveX error

Uncheck Word as the email editor in Outlook

- Tools -> Options -> Mail Format

- Uncheck "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages"

Re: E-mail template - ActiveX error

Thanks very much for the suggestion, appreciate your time.

However both options (edit and read) are already unchecked.

Anything else I can look at?

Sorry, I gave you the wrong info.  You will need to check Word as the editor.  If that doesn't fix the issue or you cannot leave it checked, try the steps below.

Change the security zone setting in Outlook

- Tools -> Options -> Security

- Change Security Zone from Restricted to Internet.
