I have been using Act E-mail with Frontier ( a local phone company) for years. They recently have changed their ports from the standard ones to new ones. from what I understand, ACT does not support these new ports. Would using Outlook eleviate the problem ? Sometimes the e-mail works witrh ACT, other times it does not. I have called Frontier, and they are not very helpful.
Does anyone know of this issue ?

If they have changed their ports, that would cause your problem. ACT uses port 25 and is not configurable., Tell them you need to use port 25 and ask if they could 'open that up for you". Sometimes a company will. If not, yes, outlook would be an option because ports are configurable within Outlook
