Dynamic Group Membership

I cannot seem to set up Dynamic Group Membership criteria correctly. I want to add members to a group by using the City field. I have set it up this way:

Field Type

   Contacts

Field Name

   City

Operator

   Equal To (=)

Value

   city name

And/Or

  Or

This arrangement does not work.  Should I use any of the parenthesis's?

Re: Dynamic Group Membership

And/Or should be set to End. Actually I don't see how you are able to set it to OR when you have only one criteria. ACT! does not give you the option...

Re: Dynamic Group Membership

I had more than one criteria. Actually 5. I figured it out. I had 4 of them set for City and one for a User Field. It seems that when I removed the User Field from the list it works fine. The main objective was to have all contacts in the same City go to the same group. Thanks.

Re: Dynamic Group Membership

Probably what you were needing to do in the case where you have the inclusion of the user field is that the 4 city lines should have an OR between them and then also brackets, and then the User field would be an AND after the closing bracket for the cities...

Scott, Thanks a million for the brackets suggestion. It helped me solve a similar issue. Steve
