I just bought ACT! Pro and as I send emails to my contacts through Outlook, which is linked to my gmail account, I see that each email I initiate in ACt and attach to a Contact is duplicated and sent twice in my sent mail.
Does anyone know why that is happening? It kind of defeats the purpose of making a good impression on prospects.

Try reviewing your email preference settings as the first attach is probably occuring there and the second if you are attaching.
You should also update to the latest hotfix
