I converted a database from Act 6 to Act 2008 and when I view the History the regarding field information shows up twice? Is there any way to convert a database and avoid this problem?

Unfortunately, because of how ACT! 2005 and above handles converting history entries, the only way to ensure the database would convert is the duplicate the entries. Its documented in the following KB article.
