Duplicate Alarms

I am getting duplicate alarms from Act v 16, just as I did from v. 15.  The duplication occurs at a steady pace.  Thus, if I am gone for a week, there may be 20 such alarms, each exactly the same as the others.  If I am gone for a day, there may be only 3 or 4.

 

I have been somewhat casually struggling with this problem with both verions of Act.  I have repeatedly reset the preferences.  I have made sure I am not syncing with Outlook (I do sync with Google and other databases occasionally sync with the database in question, which acts as the server.  (The other databases do not exhibit this behaviou).

 

What should I do now?

In that case, I would recommend running the maintenance outlined in the knowledgebase article in my previous response. It's likely that the database may have some damage in it that the maintenance may be able to fix.

When you're saying that there are duplicate alarms, are you saying that there are multiple alarm boxes, or are you saying that there are activities that are duplicated?

If it's just multiple alarm boxes, you can try to run maintenance on the database using the following knowledgebase article:

If it's duplicate activities showing up on your calendar, are you noticing any pattern in a specific activity type that the duplicates have in common? Recurring activities? Does it tend to be activities that originate from Act!? or do they originate from Google? Do you synchronize your Google account with any other 3rd party programs or services?

Multiple Alarm boxes of the same activity.  Also, I get multiple requests as to whether to roll over activities.  Again, I have redone the profile several times, and this problem existed in v.15 too.

I missed your previous post, which is too bad, as running the maintenance routines did solve the problems.  I don't think that's recommended in the knowledgebase article on multiple alarms.
