Domain = null error

I am hoping someone has some idea of what might be causing this problem. We recently picked up a server from a sister company that was sold. We have one employee comin gto our office temporarily and she needs to access ACT from her machine (which we also brought to our network). We demoted the server and added it to our network. We shared out the necessary folders and recreated the mappings. But the user is getting an error that comes up repeatedly saying "domain = null" when trying to launch ACT. Has anyone had any experience like this with ACT. I know nothing about the software myself so any help is appreciated.

Is she able to open a database that is local to her machine (like the demo database or she can create a new database)?  Or does this error only happen when she tries to open a shared database across the network?

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
