Does Act 2008 support Voip?

I currently use ver 9 and find the dialler very useful especially as I can record a brief history of the calls I make.  I am about to buy 2008 to overcome a few minor things I don't like (such as not being able to sort documents by date!?) I am also about to take the pluge and make calls by VOIP. 

 

Does the new version support this or will I have to dial manually?  If it's the latter then I will probably not bother buying it.

The ACT! program has used the Windows dialer since version 3.0. So the question you need to ask your voip provider is do they support the Windows dialer.

I can't find any reference to it, I'm using Skype.  I could import the contacts into the Skype program bet then I wouldn't automatically get the history windo pop up after the call.  Suppose I could always do it manually!

If you are using Skype, you should have a look at itTAPI

 

It will work with both TAPI phone systems and Skype. It will dial and SMS via Skype to both Skype addresses and normal lines via Skype-out as well as handling CallerID on incomming calls.

MCSD... your site doesn't say if it supports Skype as the original poster requested. Does it?

 

Also, what sort of pricing is it?

The original post spoke of placing calls with VoIP, not specifically Skype.  No, our product does not support Skype.  Skype is not a "business class" phone system.  We support any Broadsoft based phone system at present.  here is a list of some of the carriers,

I wanted to see what kind of solution you found for your VoIP dialing...  We now have a carrier in the UK, Hipcom which works with our product Call On CRM Take a look if your still looking for a good VoIP solution.
