ACT!v17 and v18. What is the recommended method - SOP?- Do Opportunities get created from the My Record/Record Creator record or the Customer Contact record? Or from the Customer Company record?
The ACT! Feature Tour video on Opportunities is weak and is not clear on this matter.
I have always created mine from my Customer Contact record using the Opportunity tab.(Not the My Record)..
Then if any of my other contacts are related the that OPP, I add them to that OPP also. - Thank you - cheers - FSBill

Thank you Steven. I show my customers multiple ways of creating and managing opportunities and let them choose. After viewing a recent How To video(feature tour) from Swiftpage ACT!v17 Pro, I noticed it was missing that key piece of info. - I will continue to create mine from my Customer Contact Record. Hi Bill, whilst there is no set method for doing this as we want to provide users with several options depending on how their business works, creating an Opportunity from the customer Contact record means that the correct Contact will be associated with the Opportunity immediately, saving you a little bit of time. It sounds to me that you are using the correct method for your own business so I would recommend you keep doing exactly what you are doing!
