Do I REALLY need a DVD drive

I'm looking at purchasing a tablet (touch screen) with no DVD, and want to use ACT.  Why is a DVD drive a requirement?

Re: Do I REALLY need a DVD drive

I suspect the DVD requirement is for installation purposes - ACT! now comes on a DVD - this is the first release that now exceeds the capacity of a traditional CD.  If you're buying at a retailer, then a DVD is part of the package - if you don't intend on getting an external DVD with the tablet (I would recommend you do - ACT! isn't the only software shipping on DVDs these days), then if you do have another computer with a DVD that you could network with the tablet, you should be able to install or copy the installation files from that other computer to your tablet.  If you buy on ACT!'s e-store, I thought that is a download and then I don't think you need a DVD.

Thanks "CSC" - I suspected as much.   Just wondering if there was a need beyond installation which i was confident could be overcome.
