Display Contact Fields in Task View?

Is there any way to display a contact field (namely last reach / last attempted) in the Task view?  I am taking the approach of creating a call activity for the initial contact of a new prospect and leaving it open until I reach them (rolling over the dates), and using history records to record my actual call attempts.  So when I look at the task list and see all of new calls to make, I need a way to see which ones I have tried to reach that day.  The Last attempt field will tell me that, but I need to see it from the task view where I can see all my call tasks for new prospects.  Any ideas?

There's no option for that.

out of the box, only contact, company and phone are availalbe in the task list.

Hmm - will this same add in (or any other) let me sort in either the task list or the contact list by multiple criteria? (e.g. First sort by "Contact Status" then by "Last Attempted")?  If so then I could actually do what I'm trying to do all from the contact list.

Even though I seldom have more than one contact attached to the activity, I would settle for being able to sort by multiple criteria from the contact view - if it would let me do that, then I could do everything right from there and forget the task view altogether.
