I am trying to install Act Pro 2013 on a computer that currently has Act 2006. We want to keep things separate because the 2006 DB is absolute trash the way it is organized.
I would like to just install 2013 and have a different icon for it and the users will just use the 2006 DB for reference.
I try to install, and I get an error that asks me to upgrade the previous version or cancel the install.
Is there a install switch I can use, to disable the previous version check?

No. Only one version of the ACT! program can be installed on a computer. The database is separate from the program itself but must use the schema for the version of the program thus the need to update the database.
Technically you can have two versions of the ACT! program running on the same computer box by setting up a virtual machine for the second copy of the ACT! program but then you are logically running two computers in the same box.
