How do I delete contacts from the main database that are also set up in a separate group?
Thanks!

Once you delete the contacts, they will no longer be members of the group. Deleting a contact removes it from the database entirely.. This can be dangerous is you make a mistake.
One idea would to set the ID/Status to "DELETE ME" or Write the word "DELETE" in front of the company name. THen go look up and delete all of these at once. Less chance for error.

Depending on your objective you can make the records in the group private then assign them the Record Manager of a user that you have setup just for the purposes of 'parking' the records elsewhere so they don't appear in the database. You would need to create a user called for instance Parked Records and make them inactive so as they don't use a license.
to retrieve the records you would need to logon as Administrator and make user Parked Records active then logon as that user to see them.
Hope that helps..:-)
