Running Act! 2009 on Win XP and had a disk problem. Was able to restore database from an earlier backup. Data looks good, but when I click share for the database and then check share again, it is not checked...it is somewhat grayed out. I have totally uninstalled Norton and made sure that the folder shares were correct. No Go. Any help would be appreciated.
Well...new news. Thanks to all who viewed the thread and I hope this helps someone. Since the Act Knowledgebase pointed to some interference by firewall or antivirus, I decided to try Norton again. After making sure the Norton total uninstaller worked, I reinstalled Norton Internet Security 2009. Bingo...Act will now share the database. Go figure.
