Database server connection problem

[ Edited ]

Recently transferred data to a new computer. With Act, I cannot open my databases. Get the Dreaded " Cannot connect to Database server... Might have to disable firewall..." error message. I disabled Norton firewall and tried again. I also made sure the SQL Server Act7 was started. No go! Where do I go from here?

Thanks

Re: Database server connection problem

Thanks for the reply. I was able to resolve the issue. The problem was my database was somehow locked and would not transfer to the new computer. I downloaded some unlocking freeware http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ ran it and everything kicked in properly.

Re: Database server connection problem

What version of ACT! and OS are you using?  Are you able to open the demo database or create a new database?
