Database Copy Failed

I have no idea why.

All I was doing was trying to Save As a database.

Why should I get an error when trying to do this?

I did try running ACT as an administrator.

Re: Database Copy Failed

If you tried to copy the database with Windows Explorer that would fail because the database was open.

Re: Database Copy Failed

I did not do that.

I used Save As in ACT.

Re: Database Copy Failed

Hello,

Sounds like a file is compressed.

Right click on the files it mentions.
Under General tab click Advanced and make sure Compress is not checked.

Re: Database Copy Failed

This is why you should provide complete information. As noted in another reply the cause could be using a compressed drive as a target. Another possibility could be using a removable drive as the target drive.

Re: Database Copy Failed

I thought I had provided complete information - perhaps not?

I was able to Save As to an external hard drive.  I was unable to do so on my internal hard drive.

Is it common for an internal hard drive to be "compressed"?

Thanks,

Craig
