Database Conversion Error/failure: V6.x to V9.x

I need to convert an ACT! 6.x database to ACT! 9.x Premium for Workgroups.  I have done this in the past woth no problems. On this particular database, I receive the error message: "conversion halted.  Failed to make a connection to the database".  I have run the actdiag on the original database and reindexed, but no success.  What am I missing????  Thanks in advance!

Are you converting the database from a local directory and creating the new database locally as well? If you are trying to convert the database over a network or trying to create the new 2007 database to a mapped drive or network location, you can get this error.


Make sure the ACT! 6.0 database is on a local (hard) drive on the machine that you are attempting the conversion on and make sure that the location for the newly converted database is also local to that machine.
