Data integrity issues

Hi, we're using ACT 2009 and have had ongoing issues with our data.  Sometimes when looking up records, important client information is carried over from the previous record that was being viewed.

In other words, if I'm on client A's record and do a lookup to get to client B's record, client A's Social Security number and/or date of birth will appear on client B.  The correct data appears if you hit refresh, but this can be a big problem as you can imagine.  The issue appears to be random and can't be duplicated.  We are actually looking at replacing ACT with a different CRM, largely as a result of this issue.

I'm hoping someone has had the same problem and knows of a fix?  Thanks in advance.

Re: Data integrity issues

Hello russhall,
Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. From what you are describing, this appears to be refresh issue with the SQL Server. There does appear to be data loss, just the display is incorrect, which the F5 refresh corrects. Have you seen this happen when accessing the data locally from the server, or just through the network? A possible solution would be to uninstall and reinstall SQL Server 2005 on the server. Here is the relevant KB articles for SQL Express and SQL Standard, depending on which version you have installed:

SQL Express:

Install: http://kb.Sagesoftwareonline.com/cgi-bin/Sagesoftwareonline.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1938...

SQL Standard:

Install: http://kb.Sagesoftwareonline.com/cgi-bin/Sagesoftwareonline.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1923...
