Data Transferring

Hello,

I need help transferring my data from an old server to a new NAS sever. Can anyone let me know what the steps are? Everything else from the old server came over except for the ACT premium 2011.

Thanks

Re: Data Transferring

You will not be able to use a NAS (network storage device) as they do not have a window operating system.

In order for you to store ACT on a device, you must load ACT . then you can transfer the files.

Thank you for the reply,

So I need to reinstall act on one of our computers, then we would be able to transfer the files?

Re: Data Transferring

a windows computer meeting the ACT system requirements need to be your ACT server rather than a NAS device.

There is a technology, iSCSI, which allows the NAS device to appear as a local drive and hence you can install ACT! to it, was even supported under Windows XP. I believe all NAS manufacturers support it.
