There are 3 of us in our small company that use ACT. We decided to standardize on ACT 2009 and took all of our combined contact information from an old Access database, Outlook Contacts and our old ACT databases and merged it together into 1 "master" ACT database. We have 1 computer in the office that we have set up to be the master PC running ACT, and we are all set up to synchronize with that "master" ACT database.
What we want to figure out before we do that though is if we can create 3 separate tabs in ACT for each of our separate clients and prospects. We all want the advantage of a unified ACT database so we all have the full company list of clients that will be updated in a single location, but we also want to have our separate list of clients and prospects.
Is this possible? If so, any suggestions on how to configure ACT to do this?

This is not done through "tabs". This is done by creating the sync-set for each user.
That way their database only has the contacts they should have, while the main database has them all.

Mike, One thing the FAQ doesn't mention is about editing the custom Sync Sets. We are in a small insurance business and 3 Users each have different clients that are a subset of the overall company client list. We would all like to "see" all of the company's customers, but would like to keep each of the Users Clients separate.
1. Do you know of a way to do this?
2. If we start out with 3 different Sync Sets that are identical to the "master" company database, if Users then begin deleting clients from their Sync Set that are not "theirs", will these contacts get deleted from the "master" database, or just from their Sync Set?
