Customizations & Company Records

Prior to company records, we developed a number of company-level customizations for the contact record.  This creates somewhat of a problem since we can have as many as 20 contacts for each company and we have over 4,000 companies in our ACT database and, so any time custom data changes, we need to change the data on each contact record for that particular company.  Can we 1) create company records for all of the companies, 2) move the customizations to the company record, 3) have the customizations show up on the contact view when we pull up a contact and, 4) force linking a new contact to a company or automatically creating a company for new contacts when a company does not exist?
