Custom Reports - "custom" field for City, State Zip

The reports Templates show a "Custom" field which ultimately contains City, State Zip as one merged field.  I cannot find any instructions on how to create this field and I have been unable to duplicate it by copying it.  Anyone know how to do it?  If it's somewhere in Help, I haven't been able to find it.

Thank you.  It looks as if that is the answer to my question.  I never would have called my need "How to Remove Blank Space from Fields."

Re: Custom Reports - "custom" field for City, State Zip

Can you do two scripts and once or wack/hack via answer page 14331 two custome fields?

I need to do the city state zip nonsense and also another field, salutation. I'm using a report as a donor thank you letter and i need VB to do it's magic for two places that need to close up space and add a comma. I hack a script to have both and I get either one or the other custom field replacement to work but not both at once on a report

14331 says:

If City1 = NULL THEN
Custom1.Text = City1&" "&State1&" "&ZIPCode1
Else
Custom1.Text = City1&", "&State1&" "&ZIPCode1
End IF

Mine is

If Salutation1 = NULL THEN
Custom1.Text = Salutation1&" "

Else
Custom1.Text = Slautation1&", "

If City1 = NULL THEN
Custom5.Text = City1&" "&State1&" "&ZIPCode1
Else
Custom5.Text = City1&", "&State1&" "&ZIPCode1
End IF

Custom 1 works, custome 5 just drops entirely off the report

I've exhausted my hacking skills!

You need an Ednif before the second if statement.
