I am using ACT V18 Pro with Windows 7 and Office 10.

Would like to Modify Write Menu and Report Menu so the customized template

used regularly will be in the drop down menu.

thanks

Re: Custom Menu Directions

You drag it to the word Write at the top left of the screen.

Re: Custom Menu

The following article may help you

http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11874/~/how-to-add-a-custom-command-to-the-toolbar-or-menu...!

BIG TIP   When it asks you to create the custom command by browsing under 'Command Line'  Change selection to all files. Now you can select a template or report and add them in.

Alternative older article but still valid

Custom Menu Directions

In ACT v18, the Customize Act Menus and Toolbars does not have a menu tab.  Instead it has the tabs: Toolbar, Command, Option, Keyboard, and Custom Command.

I add the Custom Command under the Custom Command Tab, am having difficulty finding the tab from which to add the new command to the "write" menu.

At the Command Tab, the right half of window shows the added command but it is grayed out, so I highlight and try to drag to the the left side of the window which list all the menus (write menu where I want to add the command) and I have a do not symbol display.

thanks for your feedback.

Re: Custom Menu Directions

Look under Commands, Custom Commands.

Now drag the custom command you have created onto the Write menu.

Custom Menu Directions

Replying to the last recommendation, I go to commands tab>custom commands.  on the right side under commands is the command I am trying to create.  It has a paper clip icon in front of the text.  Is that a correctly created Custom Command?

When I try to drag and drop to the "write" command on the left side of the window there is an "x" and it doesn't drop.

Do you think the command was incorrectly created?  But if so wouldn't it not be in the right side of window under commands?

thanks for helping with the resolution.

Re: Custom Menu Directions

I was dragging the custom command to the categories in the left side of the Window instead of

dragging to the Menu Bar at the Top of the ACT Layout.

thanks for clarifying.

Re: Custom Menu Icons
