Creating an Opportunity from a Contact

Sage ACT! Pro 2012 Version 14.1.108.0

Using Win 7

 

Is it possible to create an Opportunity from a Contact with one click transfering ALL the information from the Contact?

I have opened a Contact, clicked new Opportunity and all the fields are blank.

Hello Dlites, and welcom to the ACT Forum.

 

About the only field that should auto pupulate is the contact name and company (if the company has been added in the "Companies" portion.  If not, then only the contact name will be added.

 

As I've learned the hard way, this is by design, and it took me a little while to get my head around it.  There have been some recommendations posted in the Share Your Ideas forum about the management of contacts. 

 

Besides contact and company, what fields were you expecting to see?

I may not have my information totally correct.  My thought is Contacts are people or businesses that we are marketing to.  We will have many notes, copies of paperwork, etc saved in the Contacts database.  Once they actually become customers I would like to move ALL the information, Name, Address, Notes, Copies of paperwork scanned and saved, etc. from the Contact database to the Opportunity database.
