Creating New Database on Server

I was trying to clean up our primary database by removing a block of clients that are not active and moving them to another database. I was able to export that block of contacts and then create a new database by importing them. However, when I tried to save the new database on the server (where the primary database resides), I received a message that the drive that I was trying to save too must be on my local computer.

I have administrator rights on both databases and full access to drives on the server. What would be prohibiting me from saving that database on a different drive?

Re: Creating New Database on Server

Hello Txsailor1,
Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. An ACT! (SQL) database can only be saved to a local drive, not a network or mapped drive. You will need to save this database on a local drive on your server; or save it locally on your machine, back it up and do a Restore As on your server.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
