Creating Company from Contact

I have had no trouble creating companies from contacts but suddenly when I try to do it I am getting the error message :- "The TLB_COMPANY REVENUE field only supports system.decimal types" I have tried doing a system check, switching off, checked to see if somehow the field name had changed but thats ok, What is going on

Re: Creating Company from Contact

That would be unlikely - modifications to database structure can only be carried out on the 'Publisher' database, not on 'Subscriber' (remote) database.

Re: Creating Company from Contact

The evidence would suggest that you have 'linked' a Contact field with a Company field (so that updates to the Company field could populate the associated field in the Contact record for those Contacts who are linked to the company in question), but that the two fields have different structures.

For example, the 'Revenue' field in Company is a Currency field whereas the associated Contact field is a Character field perhaps?

Have you recently made such a configuration change to your database?

Thanks for the reply, I have checked the linked fields and found that notes have somehow got linked to revenue but I can't seem to unlink them, any tips?

Re: Creating Company from Contact

What steps have you taken to attempt to unlink them?

The normal procedure would be to log on to the database as an ACT! Administrator and select 'Tools' then 'Define Fields; locate one of the linked fields (either Notes or Revenue), click 'Edit Field' and step through the configuration screens (click "next") until you see a tick-box that links the field to its associated field in the other entity.
