Created new fields but I am not able to input info into these new fields.

Help!  I'm working in Act 2008.  I created these new fields before I upgraded from ACT2000.  All my data uploaded into the existing 2008 fields but nothing into the new fields I created.  When I try to manually input info, the fields look OK (not grayed out) but I do not get a curser, so I can't put anything in these fields.  What do I need to do to access these fields?   I've spent days on this problem, but I can't make it work.

Tammy,

 

Once you have created the field have you also placed it on the layout?

 

If you click in the field are you saying that on the contact screen you cannot enter data?

 

Or are you trying to enter the data into the Contact List screen?
